We’ve done it again! We’ve placed 55 gallons of our local Detroit honey into one of Detroit City Distillery’s bourbon barrels and aged it to perfection. For 90 days our honey has taken on the amazing bourbon flavor and even some of the smoky charred oak flavor from the barrel.
Bees in the D in partnership with Detroit City Distillery, proudly present this unique Detroit tradition of creating Detroit’s only small batch bourbon barrel aged honey. This is a limited small batch production and once its gone, its gone! Last year we sold out in 90 minutes, so don’t delay!
Don’t forget to visit Detroit City Distillery's online store to pick up their Small Batch Reserve Honey Bourbon, made with Bees in the D honey!!
LIMITED EDITION HONEY! AVAILABLE DEC. 4th, 2020!
This special bottle of honey comes from our beehives on the rooftop of Detroit City Distillery's Whiskey Factory. Honey produced from those hives in 2022 was finished in a bourbon barrel for three months. This release only happens once per year. It's BEEspoke Honey at its finest.
When we say this is bespoke honey, we truly mean it is one of a kind. This year, hundreds of thousands of female "worker bees" traveled all across the motor city to gather nectar to bring back to their hives up on the roof of the Whiskey Factory to make into honey which found its way into this bourbon barrel. The honey has a beautiful sweetness and floral notes, that once barrel aged in the bourbon barrel literally captures the taste of Detroit.
