Girl Scouts & Bees in the D:
A Hands-On Beekeeping Adventure
Bees in the D is proud to help Girl Scouts of Southeast Michigan bring back the Beekeeping Patch! Scouts complete three steps—discover, connect, and take action—to earn their Bees in the D beekeeping Patch.
HOW TO EARN THE BEEKEEPING PATCH?
Discover
In the "Discover" stage Girl Scouts will be required to attend a pollinator or honeybee themed presentation where they will learn many facts about pollinators and honeybees.
Connect
In the “Connect" stage Girl Scouts will connect with the experts at Bees in the D or another bee organization to attend a honeybee hive tour where they will learn about honeybee hives and their structure.
Take Action
In the "Take Action" stage, Girl Scouts will complete activities such as planting pollinator-friendly gardens, building bee habitats, or educating others to support pollinators.
To complete the “Connect” stage, join one of the hands-on hive experiences below. You’ll suit up, visit active hives, and learn directly from Bees in the D beekeepers.
