MAKING DETROIT THE BEST IT CAN BEE

Bees in the D is a trusted group of educators focused on pollinators, specifically honeybees, and provides a model for beekeeping nationally. Through global education and our nationally recognized urban beekeeping model, we increase knowledge around pollinators and are a recognized advocate for honeybees. Our nonprofit provides honeybee hives and beekeeping training for schools, businesses, and local municipalities.

On top of the bee hives we have placed throughout the city, we are also placing bee hotels throughout Metro-Detroit.

EXPLORING 'NO MOW MAY'

No Mow May is an initiative started in the UK by Plantlife and has since gained momentum worldwide. The concept is simple - refrain from mowing your lawn throughout the month of May. This allows native wildflowers and other plants to grow and provide a vital food source for our pollinators, such as bees.
